In the past, this intersection in the Malone Neighborhood was a typical four-corner intersection. However, the city purchased much of the land to create a 100 Year flood control area called the "Antelope Creek." As a result, many houses were removed, and parks and bike paths were built, leaving this house on the only remaining corner of the 22nd and R Street intersection. From this location, there are unobstructed views down the creek in both directions, including several bridges, the Hub Cafe, the Capital Building, and most every evening there are some very stunning sunsets.
